Grade II Listed building. Built around 1912 as an aeroplane hangar for the newly formed Royal Flying Corps. This became the pattern for Royal Flying Corps hangars on most home aerodromes until about 1916 and is a type which has few survivors. Also known as the "Black Sheds" it is probably the earliest Royal Flying Corps hangar
