Martha Doan Memorial Garden

Memorial garden in memory of Martha Doan, local Westfield Indiana woman born in 1872 who is remembered for her remarkable scholastic record in her time. By the age of 21 she had received a BS from Earlham college as well as a BS and MS from Purdue. Martha taught for several years before earning a doctorate at Cornell University and an honorary doctorate from Purdue before retiring to Westfield in 1937.
