From the artist: " "Cloud Study" was inspired from the bipolar weather changes with which San Diego has become associated with. I wanted the art box to be pleasing to the eye and realistically executed; I planned on avoiding an texts or decorative patterns on the art box, and to also made sure the piece has a deeper meaning. Therefore, I thought it would be interesting to bring the sky to the ground as a way to emphasize the beauty of San Diego nature. "Cloud Study" consists of five different cloud arrangements based on real San Diego sky-scapes that i've seen and documented. I feel that through a "lightened" art box experience, one can be reminded of the environment and strive to appreciate what is all around us."
