Designed by Roscoe Harold Zook, William F. McCaughey, and Alfonso Iannelli. Opened in 1928. At time of opening it was the second largest theater in America, the first being Radio City Music Hall in New York City. The theater was named by Mayor William Malone after the Charles Dickens novel "The Pickwick Papers." In 1975 the theater was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
