Marquette City Hall
Marquette, United States
Marquette's first city hall. Construction was started after the cities previous with Peter White had run out. The cornerstone was laid in May of 1894, and construction finished that year. Architects were Andrew Lovejoy and Edward Demar. The project was completed for just under $50,000 by contractor Emil Bruce. The buildings use of locally supplied bricks and sandstone helped keep local workers going through the depression in this era. The building was used by the city, until it was sold and converted into offices in 1977.
