Captain of Spies

This is the burial place of Captain John Gordon who served under President Jackson. President Jackson thought so highly of him that he would not let captain Gordon report to anyone but him alone he worked as an envoy to the Spanish governor of Pensacola Florida which resulted in the capture of Pensacola and the cession of Florida to the United States he also fought in the Seminole War.
