North Fork Crow River Dam at New London
New London, United States
Dam built in 2012 at the natural falls in the North Fork Crow River. This is the fourth incarnation of a dam on this site. The dam, the first of which ran the grinding stones for a flour mill, has always been a defining feature of New London. A beautiful portage built around the current dam is a boon for canoers and kayakers to continue their trek down the river, which eventually teams up with its sisters the Middle Fork and the South Fork of the Crow River, and travelers down their waters will eventually meet up with the great Mississippi River.
