Russian Fort Elizabeth, Waimea

Russian Fort Elizabeth was named after Czarina Elizabeth and built by Georg Anton Schaeffer. The fort served the Russian American sea farers in the 19th century, and is now in rumbles. The foundations of the main walls and inner buildings still remain, and became a state historical park.
