The Wash House on the site was in a frame building, and indoors were several domestic washing machines with wringers. the network of clothes lines filled the yard since there were no gas or electric dryers. 1960, a new laundry was constructed nearby and quit with institutional appliances. It was moved to Good Samaritan Center in 1989.
