Army Ammo Plant Water Tower

This 100,000 gallon water tower serves the now city owned Army Ammunition plant.   The plant spans over 168 acres with over 130 buildings.  The original construction began during the 1930’s.  It was  originally built for aluminum reduction for the USAF. It was converted to a ammunition plant in 1944 and became the largest military owned ammunition plant.  In the late 90’s the plant was finally closed and the process of turning the plant over to the city of Riverbank began in 2012.
