A flooded China clay pit which was last worked in c1930. This was one of many such small pits which were worked in the nineteenth century - the clay they produced came to works such as Wheal Martin, which is the museum see behind you, to be treated. This disused has been flooded pit hold water for the modern industry. It could be drained and worked again if required.
