Tie Hack Cabin

Kamas, United States

During the building of the Transcontinental Railroad, many hardy souls in this area made their living in the Uinta Mountains cutting railroad ties. This cabin was moved to this site from the Steel Creek area in 1997. It was restored as a Passport in Time project by the Forest Service. It serves as an interpretive site with displays of the Tie Hack era.
