Tuscan Lodge #77 -Historic Aughenbaugh House

The J.W. Aughenbaugh house was built in 1897 by John W. Aughenbaugh, who was a partner of the EACO Flour Mill. J.W. was an expert in flour milling production. This house is an example of Renaissance Revival architecture using local limestone as its primary building material. There are three floors including a ballroom and maid's quarters on the third floor. The Aughenbaughs were the only family to live in this house. It was sold to the Tuscan Lodge #77 of the Masons in 1931 for $5,000. J.W. Aughenbaugh died in 1923. This house in located at 831 3rd Avenue N.E.; it is on the National Register of Historic Places.
