Grassmere Park

Nashville, United States

In 1786, William Simpson received an early land grant of 640 acres in this area, approximately 300 acres of which were sold to the Dunn family, who built the federal style Grassmere House in 1815. The farm and mansion continued in the same family for nearly 170 years. The eastern 200 acres, including the Grassmere House, are now the home of the Nashville Zoo at Grassmere, while the western portion hosts nearly 400,000 square feet of office space in the Grassmere Business Park.
