Daffern's Wood - Local Nature Reserve

Daffern's Wood was declared the first Local Nature Reserve in North Warwickshire. It is an Ancient Semi-Natural Woodland dating back to 1600 and is irreplaceable. Ancient woodlands are an important habitat for many rare and threatened species of animals and plants. Daffern's Wood was once part of Arley Wood, in the Arden Forest which covered most of Warwickshire. The extent of the woodland has remained unchanged since at least 1832.
