Peter's Humpy
Streaky Bay, Australia
Peter Sheridan (born 1870; died 1954) built this house here in a patch of scrub in Poochera in the 1920s. It was built out of flattened kerosene tins and poles cut from local pine trees. The floor was compacted hard dirt with mats made from wheat bags. (Information from the display board attached to the house.)
